The Waterville Fire-Rescue Department is currently seeking applicants for the
positions of:
Call Firefighter.
There is a great deal of responsibility and commitment that goes with being a call firefighter. You need to have a willingness to work hard and train even harder. You have to want to be one of the best.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age (proof of age will be required upon hiring).
Must have a valid drivers' license for operating in the state of Maine.
Must reside within fifteen (15) miles (driving distance) of Central Fire Station.
Must have transportation available for responding to calls.
HIRING PROCESS:
Submit completed application and resume to the Waterville
Fire-Rescue Department.
Interview with the Waterville Fire-Rescue Department interview
team.
Complete and pass a physical examination and Respiratory
Protection Program.
Pass a Background check.
Upon acceptance, the applicant will be issued a pager, boots, bunker pants, coat, gloves, nomax hood, and a helmet, and be assigned to a Call Company. At the first opportunity, the "Rookie" Firefighter will be enrolled in Rookie School.
To obtain permanent status on the Call Firefighter Force, the "Rookie"
Firefighter will have to:
Successful completion of Rookie School.
Successful completion of the Maine State Firefighter I "End Test".
